A Tiger of the Week is someone who not only worked hard in that weeks practices, but showed improvement in his/her wrestling. Wins or losses doesn't necessarily have anything to do with who gets picked. The LYW coaches will pick 7 Tigers of the Week for each match. |

Match # 3 - AARON BORTNER
INTERVIEW
Interviewer - Tell me about your matches today.
Aaron - Good, I pinned him. He hit me in the nose with his knee, and that made me mad at him and I came back and pinned him.
Interviewer - Sounds like someone should hit you in the nose before every match.
Aaron - mmmm...yea.....My dad said that if nobody hits me in the nose, I should call time-out, and hit myself in the nose, so I would get mad.
Interviewer - If you could wrestle anybody, who would it be?
Aaron - Any one of the champs
Interviewer - So you would like to wrestle anyone of the champions,.... as long as someone would hit you in the nose first. right?
Aaron - (laugh) yea

INTERVIEW
Interviewer - Tell me about your matches today. Did you win or lose? How many did you wrestle?
Nate - I won
Interviewer - How did you win?
Nate - I pinned him in the third period
Interviewer - What person in the whole world, would you like to wrestle?
Nate - My cousin
Interviewer - Why's that?
Nate - Because he's real strong, and I like strong people.

INTERVIEW
Interviewer - Tell me about your matches today, Dan.
Dan - Well, the last one I lost, but I gave a good fight. The first one, I won by points
Interviewer - Do you have any other matches today?
Dan - Yea, I have one more
Interviewer - If you could wrestle anybody in the whole world, who would it be?
Dan - I'm not sure
Interviewer - You can't think of anybody?
Dan - Not right now.
Interviewer - How about your dog?
Dan - Yea, I like wrestling my dog

INTERVIEW
Interviewer - Tell us about your matches today.
Eric - I just pinned a guy in the first period
Interviewer - How did that make you feel?
Eric - I feel really good because I haven't won a match yet this whole season, so it's really special to me, plus my dad was really hoping that I would either get a pin or a win
Interviewer - If you could wrestle anybody, who would it be?
Eric - I don't know, I couldn't decide that.

INTERVIEW
Interviewer - Tell me about your matches today, Keith.
Keith - Good. I was spinning him around, then got him in a takedown.
Interviewer - Did you pin this last guy?
Keith - Yea
Interviewer - Who's one of your heros?
Keith - Kurt Angle
Interviewer - Who's that?
Keith - He is a WWF superstar wrestler. He also was a olympic gold medal winner in the 96 olympics.
Interviewer - If you could wrestle anybody, who would it be?
Keith - My dad because he's one of my heros also |
MATCH # 3 - CORBIN WOOD
INTERVIEW
Interviewer - Tell me about your matches today, Corbin.
Corbin - The match I just had was pretty hard. He pushed me and grabbed my leg, that's why I had such a hard time getting up. But I grabbed his back leg and pulled him back. That's how I got him down. Then I used all my weight pushing him down.
Interviewer - You're a 1st year wrestler, Corbin. Did you know you just beat a kid with several years experience?
Corbin - No I didn't
Interviewer - Could you tell me who one of your heros or role models are?
Corbin - Mostly my brother. (Clay) He has taught me alot about wrestling, mostly how to do the half nelson real good, but alot of other things too.
Interviewer - Who would you like to wrestle?
Corbin - I don't know. Whoever wants to face me, I'll face. It just depends who's in my weight class

Seth - I won my first match
Interviewer - Was it by points or pin?
Seth - It was by points. The score was 13-2
Interviewer - Wow, you womped all over that kid, ah?
Seth - Yea
Interviewer - If you could wrestle anybody, who would it be?
Seth - My dad
Interviewer - Why would that be?
Seth - Because he's big, tall & real mean!

Mike - I had a real close match, which I won. He had like three more points then I did, but I came back.
Interviewer - If you could wrestle anybody in the whole world, who would it be?
Mike - Blake Wagaman
Interviewer - Blake Wagaman, why would you like to wrestle Blake?
Mike - Because he's fun to wrestle, and he's a real challenge!
Interviewer - Who is your number one hero?
Mike - My dad.
Interviewer - Why?
Mike - Because he helps me.

Cory - Well, I'm happy I had three pins, and I didn't hurt anybody.
Interviewer - If you could wrestle anybody, who would it be?
Cory - My brother (Zach)
Interviewer - Why?
Cory - Because I could beat him, and he doesn't think so.
Interviewer - Who is one of your heros?
Cory - Cary Kolat
Interviewer - Who's that?
Cory - He's a guy that I got named after, and he won states 4 times, NCAA twice, and he's been to the olympics. |
Match # 4 - EDWARD CHRISTIAN III
INTERVIEW
Interviewer - Tell me about your matches today.
Eddie - They were GREAT!
Interviewer - What happend to make them so great?
Eddie - Well, I'm actually 0-7, right? But um, I got two pins today, and now I'm 2-7. Pins are the best possible things you can get, you know.
Interviewer - Yea, that's great! Hey, if you could wrestle anybody in the whole world, who would it be?
Eddie - Jesse Ventura, because he's one of the best, and he'd be a good challenge for me, but he's a little bigger right now.
Interviewer - Who would you say is your hero?
Eddie - Actually, it would be heros.
Interviewer - Oh?
Eddie - Yea, the fire fighters out there in New York City, and also the people fighting the war against terrorism.

Paul - I stayed undefeated, and pinned all my guys today.
Interviewer - So you're having a great year?
Paul - Yea, so far I pinned everyone I wrestled except two, and I beat them by points.
Interviewer - If you could wrestle anybody, who would it be?
Paul - My brother.
Interviewer - Why?
Paul - He's always picking on me and stuff, and then he tries to wrestle me, but I always beat him.
Interviewer - Who would you consider one of your heros?
Paul - Coach Beaver

Tim - Um, I pinned two guys already, and I have one more to go.
Interviewer - What moves were you using?
Tim - I used a double leg takedown, then a half nelson.
Interviewer - If you could wrestle anybody, who would it be?
Tim - My friend, George.
Interviewer - Why?
Tim - Because he is in karate, and he's strong.
Interviewer - Who's your number one hero and why?
Tim - My dad, because he tells me to keep on trying, and stay off my back.

Zach - I won both my matches today.
Interviewer - How did you win?
Zach - One match was 8-5, and the other was 4-0, I think.
Interviewer - If you could wrestle anybody, who would it be?
Zach - My brother (Brandon)
Interviewer - Why?
Zach - Because he's fun.
Interviewer - OK, then who would you say is one of your heros?
Zach - I'd have to say my brother, Brandon, again.

Blake - I pinned both of my guys.
Interviewer - What move did you use?
Blake - I used the cradle both times.
Interviewer - If you could wrestle anybody, who would it be?
Blake - My brother (Colby) because he teaches me a lot of cool moves.
Interviewer - Who would you consider one of your heros?
Blake - Coach Beaver

Blake - Because he teaches wrestling real good.
